Why are we striving to be consistently stable, steady, & complete when it is in our parts that collapse, flow, tear, and transform that make us what we are? Just as the seemingly solid ground beneath us is in constant motion, our fragility is vital to our existence. I will always seek to make art that is shifting, breathing, melting and moving to remind us that it is in those temporary states where we find beauty.

By popular demand, I have turned this original oil painting into a fine art print. Each print is embellished with the same biodegradable glitter that adorns the original piece. I felt it was vital to the essence of the artwork to preserve this element to carry its message: There is incredible beauty in our most vulnerable states.

This is a selected composition from a large acrylic fluid painting I completed in 2019. This experimental, watery method guided me towards the process I use to create movement in my paintings. This print displays fluid techniques and captures the drama I like to use in cool, high-contrast color palettes. I continue to use this technique in my work to build energetic and emotional landscapes while exploring glaciers and ice as a medium.

This print is a selection of a large, vibrant oil painting. The imagery is meant to depict the edge, or “wall” of a glacier, where the brilliant, dense ice meets the open sea. The abstracted composition can have many interpretations, although my favorite orientation makes the ice look like a wing spreading its illuminated crystal clear blues into the light.
